Frequently asked questions

How do the verified loading capacities compare?

MCTRL300 is documented at 1.3 million pixels, MCTRL1600 at 9.2 million and MCTRL4K at 8.8 million. MCTRL600 has a verified per-port capacity of 650,000 pixels across four Ethernet outputs; no total capacity is inferred here.

Which source inputs distinguish the models?

MCTRL300 uses single-link DVI; MCTRL600 adds HDMI 1.3; MCTRL1600 provides DP 1.2 plus four single-link DVI inputs configurable as two dual-link DVI; MCTRL4K provides DP 1.2, HDMI 2.0 and DVI including dual-link operation.

Which models provide optical outputs or fiber-converter mode?

MCTRL1600 provides sixteen Gigabit Ethernet and four 10G optical connectors and can switch between sending-card and fiber-converter modes. MCTRL4K also provides sixteen Gigabit Ethernet and four 10G optical ports with main/backup mapping. MCTRL300 and MCTRL600 use Ethernet outputs with redundancy support.

Which model has the documented HDR and 3D workflow?

MCTRL4K supports HDR10/HLG with compatible receiving cards and can work with the EMT200 3D emitter. These prerequisites should not be applied to the other variants without separate evidence.

How are the controllers configured and cascaded?

MCTRL300 and MCTRL600 use USB and UART cascading. MCTRL1600 supports Ethernet, USB, RS232 and AUX control with cascading up to ten devices. MCTRL4K supports Ethernet, USB and Genlock with cascading up to ten devices.
